LittleBigHelp

We support women's path to independence

For many years, we have had a close collaboration with our suppliers in India. Therefore, it felt natural for us to give something back to a country and people who are an important part of Black Colour's history.

Since 2021, we have supported LittleBigHelp and their 'Gulermat Slum Skills Training Empowerment Project'. LittleBigHelp was founded in 2010 by Lisbeth Johansen, who has since worked in slum areas in Kolkata and Howrah. They have established several skills development centers for women, which help to break the cycle of poverty.

Our support makes it possible for 11 women each year to complete tailoring training and create their own income.
The women not only learn to sew. They also participate in workshops on topics such as self-esteem, women's rights, health, entrepreneurship, and economics. In addition, they receive help to open a bank account and either find work or start their own business.

  • 40% of children drop out of school early
  • 10 million children aged 5-14 are employed in labor
  • 23.9% of India's population lives on less than 4.20 dollars a day

Are you curious about how our collaboration has made a difference? And would you like to hear how the Indian women we have supported have fared in the project?

DANISH HOSPITAL CLOWNS

Our support for Danish Hospital Clowns

We are proud sponsors of the Danish Hospital Clowns, who daily bring joy and support to hospitalized children and their families. Their work strengthens children's zest for life and courage, making it easier for them to cope with their illness. We never doubted supporting the Danish Hospital Clowns and their work to bring light and hope to all children and young people, regardless of diagnosis.

Through their visits to hospitals, they create moments of joy and togetherness that make a big difference in children's daily lives. We are happy to be a part of this meaningful initiative and help bring smiles to children's faces in difficult times.

Facts:
• There are currently 69 trained hospital clowns who visit children in hospitals and institutions throughout Denmark.

• They visit 21 hospitals – all children's wards in the country.

• They visit 26 child and adolescent psychiatric wards, special schools,
respite care institutions, residential homes, and the two children's hospices in Denmark.

• 14 new apprentices started the hospital clown training in 2024.

• The training lasts 1.5 years and is offered by the association itself.

FIGHTING CANCER

Our support for the fight against cancer

At Black Colour, we support the Danish Cancer Society every year because we believe that together we can make a difference in the fight against cancer. We are proud to contribute to an important cause that touches the lives of many people. Through our support, we hope to raise awareness, raise funds for research and help those affected by the disease. We stand together for a future without cancer!

1 in 3 will get cancer, and 2 in 3 will become a relative.
When we support the Danish Cancer Society, we help make a concrete difference.
for the many people affected by cancer in Denmark.

Our support makes a difference:
• Enables research into cancer and its treatment
• Makes us better at preventing cancer
• Make a difference for people affected by cancer

Distribution of funds:
• 60% goes to research
• 25% goes to patient and family support
• 11% goes to cancer prevention
• 4% goes to administration

We are proud to be part of this vital mission and help create a better future for those who struggle.
